Presidential Candidates Share their Policies toward Latin America

HCP asked the 2008 Candidates for President of the United States to help inform Hispanic voters and inspire them to vote by sharing their policies toward Latin America in six general areas:
  1. Immigration, as it relates to border control efforts, regularizing the status of current illegal residents, the Dream Act, and any other pertinent areas
  2. How to close the poverty gap in the region
  3. How to fight corruption
  4. Free trade
  5. Advancing citizen participation in democracy
  6. Responding to democratic populism

Below are the Candidates' responses and their campaign websites to learn more.  Read side-by-side comparisons of candidate responses on immigration, poverty and trade.  The survey was conducted in January, 2008.
