Policy Papers

What is a 'Policy Paper'?   A Policy Paper is a 2-page or less “snap-shot” of the status in Congress and the Administration of a policy issue of interest to Hispanics.

Policy Writing & Topics:  HCP Staff, College Student members and recent graduates research and write Policy Papers based on topics selected by Pueblo Hispano Newsletter readers, Facebook members, students, HCP Staff and from interested Hispanics from across the U.S.

Policy issues can be anything in general or specific that is of interest to Hispanics, including:

  • Immigration, such as guest worker programs, visa requirements, Dream Act, comprehensive reform, remmittances
  • Education, such as after school programas, ESL, college sholarships, high school completion
  • Small business developement, such as SBA loans, minority contracts, tax benefits for minority businesses
  • US policy towards Latin America, such as regional cooperation, trade, environment, security
  • Health care, such as low-cost health care and insurance, non-emergency and child health care
  • Or, any policy issue of interest to you that may be of interest to Hispanics as a whole

Anyone can request a topic for a Policy Paper.  What policy topic do you want to know more about?
